Sirok

According to the legend, the Mátra used to belong to the empire of Darnó, the fairy-king. His castle stood opposite the Castle of Sirok. According to the fable, young Bodony fell in love with Tarnát, who was the daughter of Darnó, the fairy-king.

In his anger, the evil father had the two young lovers killed, who then turned into stone. Darnó is still crying bitterly. According to the fable, that is the origin of the name of the village, too.
