Dorogháza

Dorogháza is located 25 km far away from Salgótarján. You can get to Dorogháza from Budapest to Hatvan on the highway M 3, from Hatvan to Kisterenye on the mainroad 21st, from Kisterenye you travel on the 23rd road. The locals work in the agro culture.

The most beautiful parts of the mountain Mátra reach the area. The 944 m high Piszkés-tető is located 5 km from the village, at the border of the county of Nógrád.

Due to the excellent natural environments the area has been discovered by the tourists. The place is good first of all to those people, who likes the silence, the fresh air, and to those people , who are looking for cheap accomodation but of high standard.

It used to be landowned by the Baksa clan. The village was burnt down by the Turks in the middle of the 16th century, later it got set up fast.

The Roman Catholic church of the village was built in 1758. The roman catholic belfry - art relic- was built in 1811, and it is a one storey building. The bell was made by Stepanides Benjamin from Losonc (Slovakia) in 1814.
